Osip Mandelstam was a great Russian poet who was persecuted and sent to Siberia for writing a poem about Stalin’s mustache. Nigro’s dark comedy pulls us into the world of despotism, following Mandelstam into a nightmarish world where one wrong word, one sentence, can strip you of everything, even your life.
