Michael Gurian has built a career as an author, marriage and family counselor and consultant due to his expertise in childhood psychology, and his written work to this point has been nonfiction. He’s perhaps best known for his New York Times bestseller The Wonder of Boys. With his latest work, though, Gurian was moved to pen a YA novel. The Stone Boys is somewhat autobiographical and based on the author’s own trauma in being molested by a psychiatrist as a child. A Kirkus review notes that it’s “a story built not around easy answers but anguished inner arguments.” Gurian will talk about the book and his career at Auntie’s Thursday night.
