Re: “BEHIND THE COVER: Why is Sheriff Ozzie stepping on a snake and some flags?

Captain Awkward is aptly named. Ozzie is not a patriot or a hero nor in harms way. He is the harm. The people have a constitutional right (and a duty ) to rise up against tyranny - be it foreign or domestic. Just ask our founding father (they were quite eloquent in their writings about this). If you spend more time (as other Ozzie supporters should) reading history instead of jumping on a tyrannical bandwagon, you would see just how dangerous an out of control sheriff can be. For him to collect databases of peoples political affiliations is unlawful and unconstitutional. To treat people of a particular political party differently as a law enforcement officer is criminal and violates civil rights. Owning MRAPS and berating patriots who stood up at the Bundy ranch is only going to exacerbate the situation as he has in effect, made himself and his deputies targets as being oppressors. For 235 years, America has stood against oppression and if it is found in Spokane, it will be fought against there as it has been for the several centuries.

Re: “Manufacturing Fear

This man is dangerous. It doesn't get any plainer than this. I watched his speeches at town halls and am appalled at his definition of a constitutionalists (news flash - we are all supposed to be and especially an officer of the law) and labeling them as criminals and domestic terrorists. He has just branded every soldier, every politician, every constitutional attorney, every judge, every police officer and every American citizen with the same brush as a criminal which I am sure in his mind, gives him free license to treat them as not having rights.

He also throws into the mix how dangerous "constitutionalists" are because they have lots of guns and ammo. So for him, the second amendment has conditions he has set in his mind. What is his definition of "lots" ? More than one? 10 or more? Is a collector more dangerous if he has 50 than a criminal who owns one ? What law or statute can he quite that says having "a lot of guns" is illegal?

What makes him all the more dangerous is he has maneuvered himself politically into a position of being an active voice in the law enforcement community of WA State. This means he gets to spin his anti-American rhetoric to other officers.

The problem here is not the constitutionalists that Sherriff "Ozzie" has painted with a broad brush but with a "good old boy" power hungry Sheriff that harkens back to the days of the 1950's southern sheriffs and the days of Joe McCarthy sniffing communists under every bed. Now, as then, this person should not be allowed to spread dangerous, false and unlawful ideas that undermine the fabric of what makes America great. There is no greater foundation than the constitution itself and those who oppose its adherents are the true domestic terrorists.
