Seattle's Bumbershoot will return this summer, smaller and more regionally focused

If you regularly make the pilgrimage across the state for any of the city's summer music festivals, we've got some good news for you.

The future of Bumbershoot, the music fest that has been rocking Seattle for nearly five decades, seemed up in the air as early as last year, when the promotion company AEG dropped out as the festival's producer. But One Reel, the nonprofit that's been behind the event since the '80s, told the Stranger last week that Bumbershoot 2020 is currently scheduled to take over Seattle Center from Sept. 4-6, albeit with a smaller, more locally focused scope. ♦
