Re: “Real Solutions

I have been following Cathy’s work history, listening to her public statements and reading her press releases since the last election. This editorial seems to have the same lack of any detail while claiming heroic effort for us, her constituents. Remember Cathy’s public statement about Bette in Spokane and her claim that ObamaCare made her a victim of the law. How about the press conference on March 24th titled “Solutions to Get America Back to work” that had a slick marketing text but no details or action plan. How about Cathy’s Republican address on April 12th where she again talked about long-term plans for jobs and economic growth. Again there was no details and when I wrote her asking for details I only get talking points about how Republicans are working so hard to provide jobs and economic growth. If I provided my boss a business plan that was simply I was going to make the company lots of money and didn’t have any actionable items, I would be fired. Cathy’s list of claims goes on and on about what she is going to do. I vote based on facts not claims. I hope everyone takes to time to research what Cathy has claimed and really done over the past six years she has been our representative. I plan to vote against her come November.

Re: “MORNING BRIEFING: Bloomsday, a lime shortage and the circus

With all the half-truths from both sides of the aisle and partisan news organizations I would ask that everyone spend a few minutes to look into their candidate. Compare and contrast your choice to others in the field without looking at political affiliation. All candidates have a Facebook or personal web page, so read their posts and watch their videos. Ask yourself, is what their selling a factual statement or cleaver marketing like a car dealer would use to get you onto the lot, plenty of sizzle but no substance. Write them a personnel letter and see if you get anything back other than a form letter with their campaign rhetoric and canned stances on issues of interest. Everyone supports jobs and world peace but do they have an actual plan with details. Read their position papers on issues and see what information they post to support their point of view and see if it’s backed by facts or just more marketing. Do your part to help break the gridlock paralyzing our political system. You can make a difference. Myself, I will not be voting for Cathy McMorris Rogers. She didn't pass any of my tests.
