Sours 'N September

Fads come and go within the craft beer world, but it looks like this whole “sour beer” thing is going to stick around. If you need an introduction to this phenomena, head to the Lantern Tap House this weekend, where you’ll find more than 20 different sours over the course of three days. A sour beer is, as the name suggests, a little sour, thanks to citrus flavors, barrel-aging and other techniques that give these mostly Belgian brews a bit of a kick. The first-ever Sours ’N September coincides with the Perry Street Shakedown (see the Music section), so you can pop into the Lantern and get your taste buds educated with these hard-to-find beers while enjoying the rest of the festivities.
Sours ’N September • Thu-Sat, Sept. 11-13 • $1/taste, $10/five tastes and a glass • Lantern Tap House • 1004 S. Perry • lanterntaphouse.com • 315-9531
