Live music is one of life’s greatest treasures. It’s truly awe-inspiring to watch musicians perform on stage, knowing that they’ve worked extraordinarily hard to get to that point. Jazz music is a whole other beast. Funky rhythms and odd time signatures? That’s nothing that the Spokane Jazz Orchestra can’t handle. These musicians go with the flow and make it look as easy as riding a bike without training wheels. In the jazz world, no two concerts are ever the same. Kicking off the orchestra’s 2022-23 season is “Groove Summit II,” featuring SJO’s own pianist Brent Edstrom and organist Don Goodwin. If you’re down for multiple nights of groove, check out the other performances SJO has lined up at the Bing this season.
