Spokane Playwrights Laboratory: The Breakroom

Writing a play isn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination. There are so many moving parts to keep track of and, frankly, the playwright probably cannot bear to read through the script even one more time. With workshops that act as a final lookover and first trial run of a script, the Spokane Playwrights Laboratory is a playwright’s best friend. This month you can catch the final workshop of SPL’s inaugural season, which features The Break Room by Hazel Bean. Set in an ordinary office, the play transports audiences into a Friday morning meeting that quickly spirals out of control, leaving Tobias and his band of rebels to fight for a change in their bleak, corporate world. The dark comedy play is recommended for audiences 13 and older.
