Spokane Restaurant Week Announced

If you read this section of The Inlander on a regular basis, you already know that Spokane has some excellent food. Now we’re teaming up with Visit Spokane to give you a friendly push to get yourself out into the county’s restaurants with the first-ever Spokane Restaurant Week.

Inspired by restaurant weeks in cities like San Diego and Denver, Spokane’s week is slated for Feb. 22 through March 3 (which is actually more than a week). Throughout the week diners can take advantage of fixed-price menus for either $18 or $28, depending on the restaurant. That will get you selections from a multi-course menu, which at many eateries will include an appetizer or salad, a main course and dessert.

“It’s a great way to feature your restaurants and your chefs. It encourages all of us to step out of our routine and try new places,” says Visit Spokane President and CEO Cheryl Kilday.

Organizers here at The Inlander and at Visit Spokane chose late February and early March because this is a time when restaurants aren’t typically packed. In turn, the event is meant to be a both boon for local eateries as well as a chance for Spokanites to check out restaurants at a discounted rate. Also, you can expect chefs to bring out some innovative dishes for the week while also keeping their tried-and-true favorites available.

Restaurants can still register online at restaurantweekspokane.com but they need to do so by Jan. 18. A complete list of participating eateries will also soon be available at that site.
