Spokane River Clean-Up

Join hundreds of locals doing some good during the Lands Council’s annual Spokane River Clean-Up. Due to safety precautions, this year’s version of the volunteer-driven event is self-guided, meaning you’ll need to independently organize a team — or head out solo — to spruce up a spot along the river. Even so, the Lands Council has some important takeaways for trash pickers. Pick up trash bags in advance from the Saranac Building (25 W. Main), or use your own. Collected refuse that’s placed by cones near each designated cleanup site needs to be ready for city trucks to pick up by 2 pm. Most locations chosen for this year’s cleanup are near public parking, and all sites are marked on a handy map on the Lands Council’s website. So pick one close to home, or where you love to recreate, and help keep the Spokane River clean and healthy for all.

Spokane River Clean-Up • Sat, Sept. 18 from 8 am-2 pm • Free (volunteers must sign waiver) • Locations along the Spokane River; see website for map • landscouncil.org • 509-838-4912
