Spokane Symphony Masterworks 1: The Return of the Symphony

After a tumultuous year it’s appropriate to re-open with Hailstork’s jubilant fanfare based on “Amazing Grace,” possibly one of the single most recognizable tunes in the English-speaking world. Bella Hristova joins for Sibelius’ monumental Violin Concerto, one of the most original and masterly works in the repertoire. Sibelius weaves the violin brilliantly thorough the orchestra and ranges in expression from icy cool to passionate intensity. Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 ends the celebration with some of his most heartfelt music. Composed in a single summer by the picturesque Wörthersee, it contains moments of rich melody, solace and joy. Sept. 18 at 8 pm, Sept. 19 at 3 pm. **Proof of vaccination required for all ticket holders ages 12+ -OR- proof of negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 48 hours prior to concert admission.**
