Re: “The Oracle at Cheney

I am to assume that Luke Baumgarten´s article, "The Oracle at Cheney," was intended to openly mock a group of "doe-eyed" idealists at a tiny universtiy who Mr. Baumgarten believes are dreaming of accomplishing something miraculously beyond their station, but in reality it was written with such unprofessional arrogance that the only sanctimonious prick in the room was the author himself.
Furthermore, I would like an explanation as to why Mr. Baumgarten feels the need to take cheap shots at individual Eastern students.  I personally found it to be unnecessary, completely demeaning, and unfortunately all-to-typical of a comically silver-spooned Gonzaga alumn like the author.
If have to wonder if it were his own precious alma mater that was daring to embark on such an endeavor, would Mr. Baumgarten still be giving us his arrogant sarcasm or would he be sing the idea´s praises and telling us all to reach for our pocketbooks?
