That Dam Issue! Grand Coulee Dam, the Spokane Tribe, and the Equitable Compensation Act

Uploaded by SpokaneLibrary
The construction of Grand Coulee Dam, completed in 1943, profoundly changed the culture of the surrounding tribes, who centered their life on the seasonal runs of salmon. Dr. David Beine discusses the current status of the Equitable Compensation Act that would compensate the Spokane Tribe for losses incurred with the building of the dam. This program is one of SPL's events celebrating Native American Heritage Month.
