The Avett Brothers

As “Bring Your Love To Me,” an amazing song off the Avett Brothers’ brand-spankin’ new album Magpie and the Dandelion suggests, you should bring your love to this band. Long before Mumford & Sons hit the Top 40 charts with their banjo-infused songs, The Avett Brothers were relentlessly touring smaller venues for nearly a decade. It wasn’t until 2009’s Rick Rubin-produced I and Love and You that the nation started to take notice of the folk/country act, which includes brothers Seth and Scott Avett, bassist Bob Crawford and cellist Joe Kwon. When the group hit the Sandpoint Music Festival in August, it didn’t seem there would be another chance of seeing them locally again this year. Thankfully, a last-minute tour stop in Spokane was added last month. Bring your love to this band and they’ll fill your soul with thumping, strumming, honestly human songs that touch a depth you didn’t even know existed.
