It’s always good to remember that the music emanating from the Music City isn’t all country tunes for honky-tonk jukeboxes. The Band Camino is a sterling example. The Memphis-formed, Nashville-based band gleefully blurs together electropop and indie rock for a melodic and danceable blast of feel-good sound. The band really broke through last fall with the release of its sophomore LP, The Dark, and clearly wanted to keep momentum going with the May release of more new tuneage in the form of the EP Bruises. Expect folks on the Knitting Factory floor to be bouncing around and dancing to the electronic grooves when The Band Camino swings through town.
