The Sound of Spokane: A History of the Spokane Symphony

This lecture is offered as a live Zoom webinar from inside the MAC's “Music Finds a Way: The Spokane Symphony” exhibition. Author and historian Jim Kershner is joined by the Symphony's Principal Trumpet Larry Jess and Concertmaster/Lead Violin Mateusz Wolski to discuss his new book “The Sound of Spokane: A History of the Spokane Symphony,” which is celebrating its 75th birthday. Like a Beethoven symphony, the Spokane Symphony’s story is filled with drama, turmoil and emotion—not to mention crashing crescendos and triumphant fanfares. Time for questions will be provided; event is limited to 500 attendees.
