The South Hill

When: Sat., Jan. 27, 7-9 p.m. 2018
Price: Free
Are there any other current local bands whose names scream “Spokane” louder than the South Hill? Funnily enough, the five members of the group are recent transplants to the Inland Northwest, so their sound (a little bit contemporary folk, a little bit classic country, with a hint of old-timey bluegrass here and there) is appropriately eclectic. Since settling in Spokane a few years ago, the South Hill has become a regular presence in the local live music scene, and the band dropped its debut album Half It All back in July. Its retro vibe — from the cover, designed to look like a dog-eared vinyl sleeve, to its nods to alt-country and soft rock of the ’70s — should please anyone who likes their music vintage but polished.
