When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 7 p.m. Continues through Feb. 8 2014
For the 12th year, the University of Idaho Women’s Center is staging a production of The Vagina Monologues, an annual V-Day event. V-Day, not Valentine’s Day, is a global campaign to bring awareness to and ultimately stop violence against women. The famous play by feminist playwright Eve Ensler portrays a woman’s experience from a place of pain, power and everything in between. Each year, Ensler continues to write a spotlight monologue to highlight a visionary initiative to combat gender-based violence. This year’s campaign is One Billion Rising, which seeks to share that one in three women is raped or beaten in her lifetime.
