All showings in the Eric A. Johnston Auditorium. Will the West be ruled by the gun or by the gavel? This film about statehood, frontier politics and the taming of the Wild West by the rule of law, was directed by the legendary John Ford, who based his James Stewart-John Wayne vehicle on a short-story by the late, revered Montana author Dorothy M. Johnson.
