Tom Papa

I don’t know if being called “a comedian’s comedian” is an insult, but it sure seems Tom Papa is one of those guys, like Brian Regan, that fellow comics love. And with good reason, as Papa’s spent more than two decades honing his voice between other creative pursuits like acting (The New Adventures of Old Christine), screenwriting (Jerry Seinfeld’s Bee Movie), even hosting a baking show on the Food Network. His most recent Netflix special, You’re Doing Great, was released early in the pandemic and turned my entire household into rabid fans. Papa’s relentless optimism was a nice change of pace from the horrific world of lockdown, and the man knows how to wring constant laughter from seemingly mundane topics. The fact he’s worked with everyone from Seinfeld to Rob Zombie, NPR to Joe Rogan, shows the man has some serious comedic range, and he’ll showcase it for one night only in Spokane.
