Re: “How escapism, white privilege and warm fuzzies are destroying the social justice movement

People have a hard time with term the white privilege. many people in the inland northwest are hard working people that had to work hard for what they have, things weren't simply given to them. When you first read the term white privilege it undermines all the hard work put into life to get to this point today. Every one faces adversity in life every one has had a different path some rougher than others. People of color have to face so much more though in there life's journey things that white people can't relate to. Things like being a minorities in your community or at your school. Being labeled based on racial stereotypes. The list can go on and on. Many of the pervious commenters got hung up on white privilege and were lost to the grand scheme of the article. What are people doing to try and help or resolve some of the major issues facing the nation and the planet. A month later the same topics blare in the news; Ebola has made its way to the united states, Ferguson is still a racial hot spot and a very similar situation is getting ready to erupt in St. Louis. Dolezol is questioning were is the change, are we just waiting out our issues until they are forgotten. Waiting for the next version to hit with nothing constructive to combat against it. When can we come together talk about our issues and face them and improve society? Maybe this repetitive track is just to good.
