UI World Music Celebration

This year’s celebration, which coincides with the Chinese New Year on Feb. 8, celebrates the traditional music of China and Nepal. Five musicians are visiting UI from The South China University of Technology and Nepal. The musicians will use traditional instruments, including the dizi (Chinese bamboo flute), pipa (Chinese lute), er hu (Chinese bowing instrument) and hulusi (Chiense gourd flute). UI’s Jazz Band 1, Jazz Choir 1, World Beat Ensemble and Flute Ensemble also perform. Feb. 5-6 at 7:30 pm.
