Virtual Trivia: The Lord of the Rings

As a newly minted reader of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (yes, it took three decades to finally sit down and read the masterwork), I can’t begin to express my excitement that this event hosted by the Spokane County Library District is making a virtual return. I’m already working on a punny team name and quizzing my partner Will daily on random LOTR facts. Trivia is set to cover both the books and films, so it’s not a bad idea to set aside 11+ hours for an extended edition marathon to brush up. I’ve personally moved on now to The Silmarillion, Tolkien’s famously dense mythology setting up all that happened in the early eons of Middle Earth, long before the events of the trilogy. While those stories aren’t likely to show up for this event, it’s a good plan to make sure you at least know the names and significance of famous LOTR locations, characters, swords and perhaps even Gandalf’s horse.
