Writing Workshop: Against Forgetting — The Grief of Witness

A session led by Montana poet Natalie Peeterse intended to address the grief some of us feel at witnessing injustice, be it across the table, across street or in another country. What is the role of the witness? When is saying something more important than saying nothing? What does it mean to observe? How do we put into words what we think and feel as violence unfolds before us? How do we do that well? There will be a discussion on the politics of witness and point of view.
