Out on East Sprague, the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum continues to bring in educational exhibits for all. Kicking off a new series looking at the early history of the area is an exhibit exploring the life of Isaac Stevens, Washington Territory’s first governor. Museumgoers will learn about Stevens’ Civil War contributions (he died in 1862 in the Battle of Chantilly), his controversial Indian treaty negotiations, and his exploration of the Spokane Valley.
