America's best read urban weekly | Learn More »
Your hard work and persistence has created an informative, entertaining, and essential resource to the people who call Spokane home. This weekly paper is a voice of integrity and insight for our city and is an invaluable asset. Thank you Mr. McGregor, and all of you at The INLANDER who make it possible. Here's to you, I'll raise a glass...
As Americans, especially living in Spokane, we can only imagine the fear and pain this man has experienced. I hope we as a community can be embracing and welcoming to those like Mr. Agwa Taka who have come here to escape the darkest of human indignity. I would hope, after hearing this, that we could find it within ourselves to be better champions of tolerance and love, so that we can make differences in the lives of those living in our small corner of the world.
Conservatives remind me of Yosemite Sam or Elmer Fudd. They bring the guns, the stupidity, and of course, the failure.
Well done! I´ll have a burrito and squeezed juice with spirits. I´ll invite my neurologist.
At least give this show a first watch, you´ll laugh. And also look up ´Dog Bites Man´. It was another funny show on comedy central that was about a news team based out of Spokane. Unfortunately it only made it one season, but it was great. Matt Walsh (Outsourced, Children’s Hospital), and Zach Galifianakis(The Hangover) star.
Our healthcare system is ridiculous. Obama is trying to do good by the people and start a process that will be affordable, sustainable, provide more choice, enhance the quality of healthcare for all citizens, and hold insurers accountable. For example; before reform, cancer patients were often forced to limit or go without treatment because of an insurer’s lifetime limit on their coverage. Insurance companies can no longer put a lifetime limit on the amount of coverage enrollees receive. How is this an offensive idea, or an infringement on personal liberties? The Reform Bill is a great start to a better healthcare system. But through the misinformation spread on Fox News and other media tools, the right-wing leadership has been able to create so much noise that they convince their followers that this policy is a bad idea. Very frustrating. Obama 2012.
These kind of things frustrate me to no end. The only good thing I see in this situation is that Woodard and those like him are exposing their "crazy" for all to see, and maybe that will initiate a change. I do however, wholeheartedly agree that Woodard was born in the wrong generation. Maybe one of his values should reside with what the people of Spokane Valley deserve and want: a CITY, not a sprawling stretch of strip malls and suburbs. Rose Dempsey´s hard work, intelligence, and common sense are dearly missed.
