Lucid Party -- Spokane-based hard rock unit Lucid will be giving it up live in thick, pounding doses this Saturday night, March 5, at Fat Tuesday's Concert Hall to hail the release of its new CD. Lucid first formed in 2002. While early member flux had the group a little shaky at first, that instability has subsided considerably in recent years, allowing the current lineup -- Dylan Harris (bass), Chris McCoy (vocals), Jason Hart (guitar) and Mike Clampffer (drums) -- to throttle down on the good stuff: recording and touring. And, man, these guys have seen some serious road action lately, sharing the bill with numerous regional and national heavyweights such as Five Foot Thick, Adema, Papa Roach and Saliva among others. Lucid's all-ages CD release party at Fat Tuesday's will also feature performances by Fine for Now, Zero Effect and Seattle's Drop Six. After the show, Lucid will be gearing up for a tour of the Northwest. So hit the deck.





Mootsy's Decade -- Damn. Has it been that long? It's hard to believe it, but Mootsy's bar has been around for 10 years --10. A solid decade. That's right, way back on March 10, 1995, owner Rick Turner bought himself a dive called the PM Tap and Gambling Bar and gave it the makeover of a lifetime, transforming it into the place Inlander readers and staffers alike have come to know and love as one of the best, most congenial places in town to drink, socialize and catch live poetry and music. It's a big deal. And as you might imagine, Turner and the Mootsy's crew are throwing one hell of a shindig to celebrate. Starting next Thursday, March 9, and running all through next weekend, you can join Mootsy's regulars for live entertainment wearing many different guises, high spirits and close encounters of the nicest kind.
