A Spokane judge ruled against a lawsuit by Spokane County and others trying to block a new state law requiring the county commission be expanded from 3 to 5 members voted in by district.

NEWS: Before the recent backlash against Rep. Matt Shea, his legislative assistant participated in a rally for the formation of Liberty State,  saying in May that it would "be bloodshed or Liberty State," according to many supporters of splitting Washington in two. Turns out, you can't be political as a politician's aide, so she was fired by the House.

Spokane Police Guild wants public records on Ombudsman

The police guild is requesting personal and official records from Police Ombudsman Bart Logue after he asked for an investigation into a violent February arrest, continuing a back-and-forth that's had the department questioning Logue's role while he questions their use of force. (Spokesman-Review)

A person participating in the Thunder on the Snake boat races over the weekend died after two boats crashed, KXLY reports.

First allegation of crime in space involves Spokane astronaut
In what's likely the first allegation of a crime committed in space, the New York Times reports the estranged wife of astronaut Anne McClain has alleged identity theft, while McClain says she merely logged into their bank account (without moving any money around) to stay on top of what was happening with their still shared finances.
