Local Music - La Cha-Cha

The musicians in this city are some of the hardest-working people around; their passion is strong and evident in every show. The venues in this town have stepped up to foster this creative atmosphere, too. Yet even though there are so many great bands in town, one consistently sits above the rest: La Cha-Cha. Their style mixes a variety of musical influences and comes out of the meat grinder with a flavor like no other. From the Beatles and the Stones to Modest Mouse and Radiohead, La Cha-Cha has it all. They're the hottest thing since pockets on shirts.


Larren Wolford's sweet voice calms and crashes in the rock mesh while Chad Kauppi, Chad Wiser and Travis Goulding back him up on every turn. Copy that? The members of La Cha-Cha are master lyricists, too. While contemplating topics such as love, life and social awareness in their songs, their delivery is always polished and professional. Only La Cha-Cha could make you sing along to lyrics such as "[I'm] tired of clipping your nails / Dirty fingernails" in (my personal favorite among their songs), "Papercuts."


More than that, La Cha-Cha is an all-around fun band to watch. The personalities of the four members are always apparent. These four guys take their music -- though not themselves -- very seriously. The band members have an onstage charisma and synergy that extends to the audience, creating a high-energy experience that cannot be ignored and won't be soon forgotten. It is evident that the boys of La Cha-Cha have a great time doing what they love and enjoy sharing it with as many people as they can.
