In a statement shared late last week, some recent local rumors were confirmed: Lindaman's bistro on Spokane's South Hill is closing.
In the statement, owner Merrilee Lindaman expressed deep gratitude for the community's support over the past 35 years the bistro has operated. Known for its scratch-made salads, pasta dishes, casseroles and desserts, Lindaman's (1235 S. Grand Blvd.), opened in 1984, becoming one of only two espresso bars in Spokane at the time.
The last day of operations for the bistro is Thursday, Oct. 31. Lindaman didn't mention if she has plans to sell the business.
The entirety of her announcement is shared below:
Dearest Friends,
After 35 truly incredible years, I have decided to move to a new chapter in my life! Thus, Lindaman's will close forever on October 31st.
I want to thank all of you for your love, patronage, kindness and hunger! I have a memory bank full of your day-to-day presence in my world... of the graduations, weddings, birthdays and the smiles that came with all of them. It has been a very rich COMMUNITY... All of you sharing your gifts in whatever role you've played here... employees, customers, artists, Spanish Club, salespeople... and the list goes on.
Please help us celebrate over the next month. Share your own memories with us.
My wonderful staff are looking for their next stop, so please keep them in mind if you are looking for loyal, hardworking employees!
You will be forever in my heart, Merrilee
