Because we all have a little extra sitting-around time on our hands, streaming platforms have become a major part of our daily routines. And there's a new kid in town — well, only sort of new: HBO Max, which launched yesterday with a huge catalog of content (and some glitches) from the grandaddy of paid cable channels.

As far as its film library goes, HBO Max currently offers some 1,600 titles, and it’s a surprisingly eclectic mix (ScreenCrush graciously published an alphabetical list here). Amongst the recent blockbusters are big draws like the Harry Potter series and titles from Japan's Studio Ghibli, as well as undisputed classics like Citizen Kane and Casablanca and a number of films from the esteemed Criterion Collection.
