School’s out forever — The East Valley School board is asking parents for input on their decision to close Mountain View Middle School. Budget cuts are being put forth as the reason, but considering that East Valley has planned to eliminate middle school for the last year, that’s only half the story. (KREM)

Diplomatic disunity — When you’re caught in a screw-up by, say, letting the world’s most wanted terrorist thrive in a mansion next door, there are some effective ways to apologize.
