THIS WEEKEND IN MUSIC: Odyssey! Boyz II Men! Hell's Belles! Roger Clyne!

Technical metalists love animals. Well, maybe not all of them — but local rockers Odyssey seem to. Alongside 3H, In No Order, Kepi Ghoulie and a whole troupe of bellydancers, the band is throwing the Beauty and the Beast show, a benefit for the Spokanimal and SCRAPS. Head to the Hop around 6:30 pm. The show is all-ages and costs $5.

In other benefit news, a show to benefit the UTF Skate Park — being thrown in honor of the late Brent Miller — will take place tonight at the Globe. Music by Belt of Vapor, the Soul and the Machine and Monuments. 9 pm. $5. Gotta be 21.

Excited to check out Volume next week? Yeah, us too. Tonight, get a preview of Ocean's set at the release show for his new album, BL/CK C3ILING. (And check out the profile we wrote of him for our Bands to Watch of 2011 feature here.) Only 30 CDs will be available, we hear, with extra special tracks. Ocean performs with an excellent lineup: Freetime Synthetic, Vibeself, Jaeda, DJ Forcefeed, DJ Stone Tobey and Ayo.O — who we profiled here. $5. 8 pm. Gotta be 21.

Booooo Naughty by Nature got canceled at the Knitting Factory. Is that because everyone is going to the SOLD-OUT BOYZ II MEN SHOW? Really, sold out? It's at Northern Quest tomorrow.

And Hell's Belles, the most fervent of female AC/DC cover bands that we know of, returns to Spokane for the fifty-millionth time tomorrow night at the Knitting Factory. Read our reflection on this here. 8:30 pm. $13. All-ages.

Remember the Refreshments? Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy? "Banditos!" Well, if you do, you might want to check out Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, playing Aclub on Sunday at 7 pm. $10. Gotta be 21.
