Gateway Drug

I am no doctor, but I should explain some things. Jeers to nearly everyone
who participated in the “Comments” Interview last week, and the others who
share those same feelings towards marijuana. It’s pertinent to research a
topic before you make such a delusive statement. Over the years, many
public officials have made the comment that "marijuana is a gateway drug."
This is a widespread and commonly heard misconception about marijuana.
Nearly half of voters (46%) still believe marijuana use leads to harder
drug use according to a May 2009 polls from Rasmussen Reports. However, the
University of Pittsburg conducted a twelve-year study that followed
adolescents to adulthood, rendered conclusive evidence that Marijuana is
not a "gateway drug," and that someone will not transfer to an illegal drug
because they have tried one before, but rather switch determined by the
individual’s tendencies and environmental contingencies. Marijuana use is
not for everyone, however many do use it. Head over to the CDC’s website
and look up alcohol. Crunch some numbers and then look up marijuana. It
might be hard considering it’s not listed anywhere.
