The man responsible for lots of great Spokane shows (through his booking group, Spokane DIY) is flying the coop, heading over to Olympia to hit the books. Say au revoir to Dustin Carroll (also an Inlander contributor) tonight at the Cretin Hop. His going-away bash will feature performances by Stress, Jedediah the Pilot, Into the Storm, Anadonia, Small Town Nation and Lobster Jaw. 6 pm. $6. All-ages.
Pompadours and wallet-chains abound tonight at the Seaside. The Sawyer Family — a psychobilly act from Eugene, Ore. — pairs up with Spokane's bawdy, mostly-girl punk rock outfit, the Swallows. They play with They're Watching and the Deathbed Playboy. 9 pm. $5. Gotta be 21. (Be sure to stick around for 50-cent beer night with — no, not Fiddy Cent — turntable wunderkind DJ Benjamin Jorgens.)
They tear the roof off every. damn. time. The husband/wife duo No-Fi Soul Rebellion pairs up with Portland's Boy Eats Drum Machine for a no-holds-barred, sweaty, insane dance party tomorrow night at Empyrean. 10 pm. $7. All-ages.
Earlier tomorrow night, see Washington's best answer to Justin Timberlake/Maroon 5/Jason Mraz. Allen Stone, who lives in Seattle but hails from Chewelah and who gave a live performance last week on The River (check out the video below). Everyone's buzzing about the guy — now's your chance to catch him before he gets totally huge. He's playing with Cami Bradley and Joe Gil. 8 pm. $8. All-ages.
