10/10/10; 4:30pm. World Market. I was shopping for Zinfandels, you Cinzano. We talked wine and parted. In the coffee maker section, we talked coffees & then wines again. I bought a too-pricy bottle of Zin thinking I might someday drink it with you, a complete stranger. At checkout you walked me to my car. I had known you for less than 30 minutes when you took both my hands in yours; looked deeply into my eyes. The silence seemed like forever. Finally you said There's just something about you. Speechless, I offered only silence. We were like 2 dorks in a comedy romance flick. I wanted to ask what kind of music you listened to, but I was afraid you would say jazz or blues and then I'd be hooked, so I rushed off, safe in the silence.
