Welcome to Downtown

by Chris O'Harra

On behalf of the entire Downtown Spokane community, I would like to invite you to come be a part of your city this holiday season. Each and every day, more than 1,200 businesses and properties in the Business Improvement District ensure Downtown continues to be a clean, safe, accessible and fun destination for all.

Whether it has been a day, a week or longer since you last visited, we welcome you to experience the spirit of time-honored holiday traditions Downtown. The city sparkles as the holiday season showcases horse-drawn carriage rides among thousands of twinkling lights and lingering holiday carols. Plus, view the delightful scenes that emerge in the treasured "Windows of Christmas Past" magically sprinkled throughout Downtown.

Your family can visit the only creatures worthy of pulling Santa's sleigh, as his real live reindeer make their annual stop in Downtown Spokane on Friday, Nov. 26, from 1-4 pm at Main and Wall to spread holiday cheer, filling the children with one-of-a-kind memories.

Choose from the plethora of activities Downtown to build your holiday season itinerary -- whether you select your favorites or create new ones. Meet friends over a cup of coffee. Pick up a good book to cuddle up with by the fireplace. Whisper secrets in Santa's ear. Spend an exciting day shopping at unique stores and new boutiques. Whirl around the park on your ice skates. Tempt your palate with the region's best dining. Or just stroll the Downtown streets immersed in enchanting music and d & eacute;cor from the rooftops to the sidewalks.

A festive holiday to you and yours!
