Robens Napolitan, Short Poem & r & Napolitan, 60, who says she has written poems "all my life," is an avid gardener who lives in a geodesic dome on 10 acres in Sagle, Idaho; she's also a part-time landscape designer, artist (acrylics) and member of a Sandpoint writing group. Of "Truth," she says, "I love when the short ones come. I just get out of the way and let them happen."

Truth

The yellow grosbeak is only a prop & r & the cedar can't do without. & r & I've looked under its wings. & r & There is no air.

Chloe Yates, Child's Poem & r & Chloe Yates was a member of the Moran Prairie Trees Project in Ms. Bowman's class at Jefferson Elementary School. Nine students submitted poems with identical opening lines, and we thought Chloe's was the best of the lot.
