Slackliners thrill Hoopfesters

After playing a hard-foughtgame, contending with the scorching sun and coming up against at-capacityrestaurants, a place to sit in downtown Spokane was a coveted gem this pastweekend. Many folks found their way to the Redwagon Meadow in Riverfront Park. There, hundreds sat and marveled at the acrobatics being performed by some of the mostunique athletes in the world.

The SlacklineWorld Cup at Hoopfest was a great success, as people stayed through long hours of the day to watch the likes of Andy Lewis, Gappai and Alex Mason fly high on the slackline. Many spectators took to the line themselves and received tips from the pros. The competition encouraged an energetic atmosphere, and Gibbon was handing out free gear between justabout every match. I wouldn't be surprised to see them back for Hoopfest 2014.
