The Festival at Sandpoint kicks off tonight with the Indigo Girls and the Shook Twins, but impending weather may rain on the event’s parade. With a chance of rain and maybe even thunderstorms in tonight’s forecast, people may be wary about heading out to the show.
According to a Facebook post today on the festival’s page, here is its rain policy:
The
Festival at Sandpoint is a rain or shine event. We do not plan to cancel any
concert due to a weather forecast, as it often doesn’t come to fruition. The
only weather event that will postpone a concert is lighting. Your safety is
important to us. We are fully equipped with Doppler radar and, if thunderstorms
come within a 10 mile radius, we will power down sound equipment and power up
again when it passes through, which usually happens relatively quickly in our
area.
Friday’s show, an Evening with Cake, may also have to deal with uncooperative weather as well. One thing is certain; no concert will be called off until lightning is spotted.
