WHAT'S UP TODAY? Terrific tunes, Pac Con prep and a most worthy Suds & Cinema

The number of excellent opportunities to find something to do in and around Spokane is amazing—just look at all these great event listings on our website! Our staff of savvy professionals even marked a few choice Staff Picks to help you whittle down all the goodness. But if you need a little more guidance, we're here to help.

Here's what caught our eye going down around town on Thursday, Oct. 23:

FILM | First and foremost, it's Suds & Cinema night, people! Wayne's World! Excellent! A most-worthy use of your free time would be heading to the Bing for some frosty beverages from Orlison Brewing, along with free ice cream from the good people at Brain Freeze Creamery to help The Inlander celebrate it's 21st birthday. And right here you can read a bit more about the festivities, and what is sure to be a killer after-party.

MUSIC | A great little show is happening at The Bartlett this eve, courtesy of Nashville's The Apache Relay, along with excellent openers Desert Noises. You can read our interview with crafty Apache Relay guitarist Ben Ford here, and listen to a taste of their new album right here:

MUSIC | If hard-rock is more your bag, ala Wayne and Garth, you'll want to join hometown boy done-good Myles Kennedy and his Alter Bridge bros, headlining at the Knitting Factory. Kennedy chatted about getting his start in Spokane, among other things, in our interview you can read right here. And here's a taste of Miles in action:

ETC | The folks at Beautiful Grounds are hosting a pre-Pac Con Spokane event called Steampunk Prefunk that is sure to get the fashionable geek juices flowing. Read about the weekend Con right here. We'd love to see a little Wayne's World cosplay, people.
