Here are some highlights of the week ahead: 

Monday, July 25

LIVE BANDS | The Bartlett hosts one of the country's best young roots-music singer/songwriters in Parker Millsap. He was recently nominated for Album of the Year at the Americana Music Awards, up against the likes of Lucinda Williams, Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell. Big stuff. Tuesday, July 26

LIVE BANDS | It's another edition of Northwest of Nashville at The Bartlett, the hootenanny hosted by local fiddler/singer Jenny Anne Mannan and this time including The Holy Broke, Big Red Barn and Misty Mountain Poney Club. 

FILM | The Garland hosts a screening of one of the Coen brothers' all-time classics (in my book, at least) for its Summer Camp series. Yes, it's Raising Arizona! Here's a look in case you somehow haven't seen this comedy gem: 

Wednesday, July 27

VISUAL ARTS | It's time for another Spokane Artist Trading Card Swap at Boots, where you can create your own trading cards to swap with other artists, or just check out the killer, diminutive works, starting at 5:30 pm. 
Thursday, July 28

THEATER | It's your last few days to catch The Modern's take on Man of La Mancha, the musical classic. Take a ride with Don Quixote sometime during this weekend, starting Thursday night. 

COMMUNITY | The Steam Plant is hosting its second Rooftop Happy Hour Thursday night; it's free and runs from 5-10 pm, and offers a unique view of the city. 

COMEDY | Guffaw Yourself, but don't hurt yourself, when a bunch of local funny folks hit the stage at Neato Burrito, starting at 10 pm. 

Friday, July 29

COMEDY | Local comedian-done-good Dan Cummins is in town for a series of shows at the Spokane Comedy Club, so consider this a fine opportunity to support a local while supporting a new venue, too. 

COMMUNITY | The Spark Center and Ink Art Space are merging into a new entity with a new name, and they're celebrating with a day-long party called Golden Spike (the joining of the groups—get it?). How nice of them! And how cool for us to have these great organizations doing work in the Inland Northwest. 

Saturday, July 30

FESTIVAL | KuroNekoCon is the first and only celebration of anime and Japenese comic culture in Spokane, and it's taking over the Spokane Convention Center Saturday.
