Re: “Man vs. Wolf

Every time we think we can manage the ecosystem we end up disrupting it. I am shocked that in the entire article there was no mention of the wolf which was introduced not being the true native gray wolf. Of all of the local people I have talked with over the years, born and raised in North Idaho, they all agree that the native gray wolf of this area was different than the introduced Alaskan gray wolf. Only the biologists and the big city environmentalists say it is the same wolf. Their argument is that genetically it is the same wolf. Within the species there is a difference. Do your research. They were going to stop the funding to the reintroduction program so they pushed it through. The local people and their parents lived with the smaller native gray wolf just as the Native Americans I have talked with . Up until the introduction of this larger wolf the native gray wolf still existed. If they would have protected the true native gray wolf instead of introducing a wolf designed to hunt Caribou, we wouldn´t have this problem. This introduced wolf is a large animal killing machine. It will balance itself if we let it. Do we have the patience?
