Re: “Really White House

To the clown who keeps using the old meme, ``Liberal Media'' do yourselves a favor and research the Conglomerations that own all the major media giants: they are all Conservative Rags. Fact free zone GOP is going to be a riot to watch as it buries itself in BS over the next 2 years and watches the Congress get split again and one term Humpty Dumpy fall off his grand feckless Wall.

Re: “The "protest vote" for president was three times higher in Spokane County than in 2012

Let us not confuse the City of Spokane with Spokane County. The City of Spokane Clinton and Mumm both carried. The County, which includes the luddites of The City of Spokane Valley, Medical lake, Liberty Lake, etc., actually amounts to about 50% of the county vote. In short, it's about a 50/50 distribution of Liberal/Conservative. As the City of Spokane continues to grow and outpace the county, the more blue the County will become.

The only factually correct part of the story was the protest rejection of both candidates.

Re: “UPDATED: She's in. ORIGINAL: Nancy McLaughlin isn't so sure anymore about applying for County Commissioner

Yes. We need an even more conservative do nothing as a County Commissioner. Bravo! Not!

Re: “Spokane's Sheriff Ozzie on how he'd handle an Oregon militia-style event (and his clash with Rep. Shea)

A peeing contest between two conservatives, and somehow a condescension they agree upon is to mock the US President by distancing themselves from him for fear of losing their Conservative cred.

Can we get grown ups for once to have the maturity to actually respect the Office of President? Instead of addressing the bait that Shea the LP wannabe spews you could just address the stand-off as a law enforcement officer. But that must be too difficult in this county.

This county lost its rutter the year they ignorantly voted out Speaker of the House Tom Foley and voted in the politically inept children at the Federal, State, County and City levels.

Glad Spokane is thawing from that disease called The GOP.

Re: “The use of power (electric and mayoral) and other stories

The praise should go to Michel Power from Wisconsin who are world class in their abilities and who restored the vast majority of power all over the South Hill and beyond.

Re: “Hopeless for Heroin

Marijuana is not a gateway drug for Opiates. Prescription Opiate derivatives are gateway drugs.

Journalists insult science when they propagandize propaganda as gospel when it is indeed false science. Research the biochemistry or stop writing insinuating stories on what caused this child to choose Heroin.

By the way, Nicotine is orders of magnitude more addictive even than Heroin. The difference is the dose in which Nicotine is administered to the masses via cigarettes.

An entire pack of cigarettes is estimated to have up to 20mg [miligrams] of Nicotene, and of that only 0.1 mg absorbed into the blood stream.

Scale that up to the amount of grams of Heroin an average daily consumption. Europe reports common consumption of 2 grams daily. Applying that same dose of Nicotene for daily consumption will kill a human.

Stanford states 30-60 miligrams of Nicotene will kill a human being.

Get the picture yet?

No one argues Opiates are deadly, yet we medicate the masses on minute masses of a drug far more deadly.

Marijuana should never even enter this discussion.

Scale down Heroin to 0.1mg of daily absorption and you won't find a single person addicted to it, because such a dose would be useless even as a pain killer.

Re: “Parallel Parking

Once they get this part of the city charter, any neighborhood with such a mixed use scenario, across the downtown corridors, can apply and build them out.

It makes sense for it first to get approval and show promise in the Main/Division/Post street rectangular zone that the city has already been developing with the Convention Center, WSU, and Grand Hotel. With Riverfront moving forward, areas that aren't near bars, but could serve as stops for people on the move who can use these zones will make more people interested in staying in the downtown corridor. Build out from there.
