OR7 — The Journey

The story of OR-7 takes place over more than 2,000 miles. The male grey wolf, collared by biologists in Oregon, left his pack back in 2011 and made the long trek to become the first confirmed grey wolf in northern California in nearly a century. His story is a beacon of hope for conservationists working to reintroduce wolves across the Western U.S., and sharing this plight is the goal of filmmaker Clemens Schenk’s documentary on the lone wolf simply known as OR-7. Since the film was made, OR-7 has returned to southwestern Oregon, bringing a mate with him who, last spring, gave birth to two pups.
