During a busy weekend of community activity, thousands filled downtown Spokane and Riverfront Park for Spokane Pride 2025 on Saturday, June 14, to celebrate love and acceptance, and show support for the LGBTQ+ community.
While there were
some concerns leading into the weekend that Spokane's concurrent No Kings protest of the Trump administration could cause unrest — especially following the June 11 protest against ICE over the detention of two men in Spokane who are seeking asylum — both events were held with few incidents.
Hundreds of Spokane Police officers were on duty throughout the downtown core during both Pride and No Kings. Officers did use crowd control munitions and arrested several No Kings marchers who were still in the street near City Hall at the end of the night, well after the Pride vendors had packed up and most people had already cleared out of Riverfront Park.
To capture the joyful scenes of Pride, we sent
Inlander photographer Erick Doxey out on the streets. Meanwhile, Young Kwak was on the scene of the No Kings protest the same day; find those photos
