Electronic music fans are not a monolith. XTR Human (Johannes Stabel) is for those in the latter category. The German purveyor of EBM (electronic body music, an offshoot of industrial, dance and synth-punk) brings a gothic grittiness to the dance floor. XTR Human’s 2024 album Schrank showcases his knack for blending heavy bass and brutalist vocals to create a delectably dark dance party.
