Hangouts

Off campus: Coeur d'Alene Beach is just a hop and a skip from North Idaho College. Students also go biking and hiking on Tubbs Hill and get coffee at Java on Sherman Avenue.

On campus: The newly remodeled Edminster Student Union Building has a large game room facility, a lounge and a fireplace. It also includes the Cardinal Market, the Educated Cup and Outdoor Pursuits. In warmer weather, students go to the NIC beach for volleyball. They can also rent rollerblades at the Sunspot.

Events

The fall is filled with athletic events. There will be a volleyball game against Utah Valley State College on Sept. 6. Women's soccer will begin on Sept. 14 against Skagit Valley. Softball starts in March. The Yap-Keehn-Um powwow 2001 (The Gathering Place) is on Oct. 26-27.

New in 2001

The construction of the new residence hall is underway. When it opens in January, those lucky 200 students will be two blocks from Lake Coeur d'Alene. There will also be a new shuttle service this year since the campus has a parking shortage. After all, it is bordered on three sides by water. Students may use one of the two city lots to park, and shuttles will take them directly to their building.
