Bowling For Columbine -- Documentarian and savage satirist Michael Moore points his cameras and his tough questions at the subject of guns in America. Starting with the massacre at Columbine High School, he goes on to look at murder and suicide rates, at how K-Mart makes bullets available to the masses, at vigilante-type militia groups, and, in one case, how you can get a free gun by opening a bank account. Funny, frightening, thought-provoking. (ES) Rated R. Playing at the Met Cinema, Wednesday, March 5 at 3, 5:30 and 8 pm

Cradle 2 the Grave -- Bearing no small resemblance to the 2000 martial arts thriller Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 the Grave has the same stars (Jet Li and rapper DMX) and the same director (Andrzek Bartkowiak). But it's not a sequel so much as a companion effort, complete with gang leaders, kidnappers, black diamonds, risky jewel heists and Taiwanese government agents. Li plays the latter here, with DMX as the gang leader/distraught father/jewel thief. Rated: R

2/26/03 The Guru -- Ramu (Jimi Mistry) is a dance teacher with all sorts of snaky moves and limitless optimism. Thinking America might be a good place to cash in on his talent, Ramu comes to New York, where his dreams are quickly shattered by his eight or so Indian roommates, who tell him the only Indian to make it big in American show business is that "guy from the Simpsons." But before Ramu has to join Apu at the Kwik-E-Mart, he caters a birthday party for a socialite (Marisa Tomei), somehow gets mistaken for a guru and is suddenly on the talk show circuit publicizing his new enlightenment-through-sex philosophies. Heather Graham plays his love interest. Rated: R

The world could always use another cautionary tale about bachelor parties. This time it's Jason Lee as the groom-to-be, who has just woken up next to Julia Stiles (incidentally, not his intended). Rated: PG-13
