Fiesta Charra -- This place offers great service and authentic, tasty Mexican food in an unpretentious, out-of-the-way location (on top of the Sunset Hill next to the Motel 6). The lunch menu is good until 3 pm and features a variety of dishes from the main menu at bargain prices. Most come with rice and beans. There are meat dishes along with burritos, enchiladas and tostadas (all in the $4.50-$7 range) and 10 different lunch combo specials -- again, served with rice and beans and priced right around $6 each. The large chicken enchilada is indeed large, filled with a generous amount of very high-quality shredded chicken breast. The corn tortilla was tender but held together and the sauce was rich and satisfying, if a little on the bland side. 1520 S. Rustle Rd. Call 835-5606. Also at 505 Second Ave in Cheney. Go Go Burrito -- Go Go Burrito's interior is modern, functional and stylish, with an understated psychedelic design motif featuring love beads, day-glo signage and a pink go-go boot lamp. The hefty fish burrito ($5.50) included marinated cod fish (not the deep-fried stuff you sometimes get), rice, pinto beans, cabbage, salsa, guacamole, chipotle sauce and a squirt of fresh lime, all neatly wrapped up in a wheat tortilla. It was on par with the best burritos in town. The build-your-own veggie burrito ($4.50) was spicy (but not overwhelmingly), generous and tasty, with the fresh vegetables adding a nice crunch. 1902 W. The Old Spaghetti Factory -- The Factory has been serving up steaming plates of pasta for 34 years to everyone -- older couples, teenagers dressed up for formal dances, families, and entire teams in matching jerseys. Entrees include the freshly baked bread, soup or salad, vanilla or spumoni ice cream, and coffee or tea. The most expensive thing on the menu is $9.95. The minestrone soup is zesty and filled with legumes, pasta and crisp celery. The Baked Chicken Greek-Style ($9.50) had a nice lemony flavor accented by just the right amount of potentially overpowering oregano. But this place is really built around spaghetti. There are five "treatments" -- meat sauce, white clam sauce, tomato sauce, mushroom sauce and browned butter and mizithra cheese ($6.50 to $7.95). Try two or three sauces for $8.25, or add meatballs or sausage to spaghetti and meat sauce for $8.50. Call 624-8916. (LM)





Coeur d'Alene Brew Pub -- The dozen (or more) Coeur d'Alene Brewing Company ales are distinctive and clean tasting. To go along with all those cool pints, the comfortable CdA brewpub has a diverse and interesting menu featuring salads, soups, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, even fish tacos. The $8.50 Alehouse Sandwich -- made with quality ingredients like sliced turkey breast, bacon, provolone, lettuce, red onion and roasted pepper aioli on sourdough -- is hefty and satisfying. The $11 fish and chips (coated in Lakeside Ale batter), however, are so-so. A pleasant atmosphere and good service come standard. Corner of Second Street and Lakeside Avenue, Coeur d'Alene.
